I Give Ye Thy Name | Devlog #6

Knightster! ( a combination of the words knight and monster) I finally gave it a name, yay! I might change it before the release if I come up with a better one. But due to the fact that I am terrible at naming things, it is unlikely I will come up with anything better.

Other than naming my creation, I also worked on the title screen, menu, and save feature (that last one is still in testing).

Time for me to show off.

Not only do all the objects in the title screen move to their main positions at the start, but if you watch awhile you will notice that there are small animations that play every three seconds. And of course there is the blinking "Press anywhere to start" text, which just annoys you until you do as it says.

All in all, I am really happy with how this turned out.

Once you click on the title screen, you will be taken to the menu.

As you can see there are two buttons in the menu: "New Game" and "Load Game" (A settings button will be added later). As It suggests you are given the options to start a new game or load the previous game.  The load game button will only show when there is a game to load. At the moment, when you die you are given the option to reload the wave you died on. When I refine it, you won't be able to reload when you die or restart.

Here's the transition between the title screen, menu, and the game.

I have also done some bug fixes, and I changed an effect with the slime boss's big attack.

So now instead of just floating down past the screen, it stops and melts into the ground.

I believe I covered everything.

I shall return next weekend.
